2009-2010 ArtScience Prize Program Timeline

Spring 2009
The ArtScience Jury meets to brainstorm Competition "seed ideas" and begin the process of creative thinking around the 2009 Competition theme of neuroinformatics.

Summer 2009
The Cloud Foundation forms partnerships with companies and organizations that will offer internships and other educational opportunities to competition participants.
Intensive training for ArtScience Competition instructors begins.

August – September 2009
Outreach to Boston Public High School students includes informational materials and meetings for teachers and parents

September 21 2009 - happening now!
September 21: Competition kickoff event for interested teens

September – December 2009
Student teams work together to develop and refine their ideas while participating in arts workshops connected to the Competition's theme.
November career fair and college admissions presentations for Competition participants.

January 2010
Interested participants are paired with internship opportunities.
Semi-finalist teams work intensely on their projects and idea development, receiving support and input from art, design, science, and innovation experts.
2010 ArtScience Jury members are recruited for the next year of the program.

April – May 2010
Semi-final and final presentations by student teams are open to the public.
Following finalists’ presentations, the Jury selects the 100K ArtScience Prize winners. Those not selected as finalists will be treated to a public celebration and presentation of their work.

June 2010
The 2010-2011 ArtScience Competition cycle begins with outreach to BPS students and a public announcement of the new artscience theme.

Summer 2010
Competition winners travel to Le Laboratoire in Paris, France to further develop and implement their project ideas.
Non-finalist teams participate in internship experiences throughout the Boston area.
